A friend of mine has been doing finance for years, said at the end of every finance contract when the 'balloon' payment is due, the dealership always contacts him to give him a new contract and new car.. essentially completely skipping the 'balloon' payment entirely.

I got the impression this happened in every finance contract or is he just lucky?

I don’t see many people talking about a low interest personal loan? You wouldn’t finance or lease a e.g 12k used car and maybe don’t have the cash to stump up for that. PX + deposit 4k pay no more than £200pm for 4/5 years. You can still sell the car if you want something else after a year. Interested to hear thoughts.
